IDEA
‘The Pixel Bar’, a bold brand landmark, was designed to give used bottles a new purpose.
Each thrown-away bottle was reborn as a glowing pixel of light, not just reused, but reborn to bring joy back to the party. With Modula Design, each bottle clicked into place, one by one, until 15,000 bottles became 15,000 pixels, coming together as one giant pixel landmark in the heart of Wonderfruit.
At the center stood a giant glowing moon, SangSom’s iconic symbol, lighting up the night. Around it, interactive lights pulsed with the music, so every pixel moved in rhythm. The entire experience was plastic-free, and every material was recycled after the festival.
RESULTS
The SangSom Pixel Bar proved its concept through both cultural impact and industry recognition. The project received the iF Design Award, one of the world’s most prestigious design honors, recognizing its innovation in sustainable spatial design.
At Wonderfruit, Asia’s leading sustainability festival, it became one of the event’s most visited landmarks, attracting over 28,000 attendees and ranking among the festival’s top check-in destinations, alongside the main music stages.
Online, the installation generated strong organic attention, reaching more than 13 million and driving over 809,000 engagements, largely without paid media. This resulted in more than 24 million THB in earned media value, demonstrating strong public interest in the concept.
Beyond attention, the project proved that circular architecture can function at festival scale—transforming waste into an iconic social space and repositioning SangSom as a brand that merges nightlife, art, and sustainability.
